Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our nursing team within a long-term care or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, regulatory compliance, and patient care management. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all clinical operations, ensure quality standards are met, and foster a compassionate, patient-centered culture. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, including Medicare and HIPAA requirements, while promoting excellence in resident care.

  • Provide strategic leadership for nursing services, including supervision of nursing staff and management of daily clinical operations.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to residents' individual needs, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Oversee documentation review and ensure accuracy in medical records, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
  • Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, Medicare guidelines, HIPAA privacy standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage staffing schedules across shifts to maintain optimal nurse-to-resident ratios and ensure continuous quality care delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation, medication administration, and resident safety protocols to uphold high standards of care.
  • Lead efforts in staff training and development related to nursing best practices, resident rights, memory care protocols, and regulatory updates.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes, including those in memory care, hospice care, home health services, and acute care settings.

Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in a long-term care facility or assisted living environment with a focus on nursing management.
  • Extensive background in nursing administration with supervising experience in diverse healthcare settings such as home health agencies or hospice care programs.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation review and medical records management.
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, HIPAA compliance, and resident’s rights protections.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing care facility teams while fostering a positive work environment through effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience overseeing nursing staff within assisted living communities or memory care units is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the specific needs associated with aging populations or residents requiring specialized memory or hospice care services.
