Registered Nurse - Lactation Support Specialty in the Family Birth Center. Provides specialized lactation education and hands-on support to breastfeeding mothers in the postpartum period. Develops personalized lactation plans, conducts lactation consultations, and serves as a resource for colleagues on best practices in lactation. Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, applies the nursing process to the care of patients including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • National certification in lactation or perinatal area preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider card or obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience preferred
  • Acute hospital maternal-child nursing experience preferred
