About this role

The Trauma Response Nurse communicates effectively to care for trauma patients of all ages at the Moses Cone Level II Trauma Center. Working under moderate supervision, this role communicates with the trauma departments in the resuscitation phase of the trauma patients.

Essential Job Function

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements through the continuum of high-quality, efficient care. Conducts audits of patient charts to ensure that required data elements and care processes are completed. Participates in quality assurance activities, including acting on the Trauma Quality Council to identify and resolve process issues for maximized efficiency. Acts as an educator in community-based injury prevention and trauma care to build the job area skills of healthcare teams. Assists with the development and implementation of new practice standards in Trauma care to best meet patient issues. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Associate's Degree. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

Experience

Required: 3 years as a Registered Nurse and 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or National Nursing Organization. ED or ICU experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact State. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
