The main
duties
- *Insulin & Clinical Care:* Administer insulin , monitor blood glucose and follow physician orders.
- *Medication Oversight:* Supervise and monitor Med Tech medication administration; review MARs; identify missed doses, medication errors, unavailable medications, and documentation problems.
- *Medication Refills & Changes:* Work with physicians and pharmacies to obtain refills and follow up on new orders, discontinued medications, dosage changes, and hospital/ER medication changes.
- *Physician Coordination:* Communicate resident health changes to physicians and obtain appropriate orders or follow-up instructions.
- *Appointments:* Coordinate and schedule physician/specialist appointments, transportation and necessary paperwork; follow up after appointments and make sure new recommendations/orders are implemented.
- *Resident Health Monitoring:* Monitor changes in residents' physical and mental condition, including vital signs, falls, wounds, appetite, behavior, pain, edema, respiratory problems, blood sugar, etc.
- *Documentation:* Maintain nursing notes, physician communication records, medication-change records, treatment records, and other required clinical documentation.
- *Hospital/ER Follow-Up:* Review residents returning from the hospital or ER, reconcile medication changes and make sure the physician/pharmacy/Med Tech team receives the updated information.
- *Med Tech Support & Training:* Provide guidance to Med Techs regarding medication procedures, documentation, physician orders and when a change in condition needs to be reported.
- *Resident/Family Communication:* Communicate important health-related changes and follow-up needs with residents, families/responsible parties, physicians and other providers as appropriate.
- *Quality & Compliance:* Periodically audit MARs, medication carts/storage, controlled medications, insulin documentation, physician orders and medication availability.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
