American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring an active IL RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Work in an Acute Care Level 2 Trauma facility's Psychiatric Unit
  • Two adult units: a 16-bed secure Adult Psychiatric Services (APS) unit for chronic mental illness stabilization and a 10-bed Behavioral Medicine Services (BMS) unit for depression, anxiety, and grief-related care
  • Average patient length of stay is 5 to 7 days
  • Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • BSN not required

  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, psychiatric nurses, and behavioral health technicians
  • Facilitate and support therapeutic groups covering topics such as grief, anxiety, coping skills, and substance abuse recovery

  • Units feature modern amenities including private/semi-private rooms, activity rooms, comfort rooms, and outdoor recreation space
