LCH 3K Behavioral/Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit. Patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. Because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnoses include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation. Looking for candidates with a passion for behavioral health, prior experience preferred. 3, 12-hour night shifts per week; 7p-7a. Weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • At least 6 months of RN experience (not for new graduates)
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire
  • Prior experience preferred
  • 12 hour shift, Night shift, On call
