University Dermatology Group in San Diego, CA, seeking motivated back office medical assistants. *Why This Role Is Perfect for Aspiring Clinicians* * Gain 1,600+ hours of direct patient facing experience, a key metric for medical, nursing, and PA school applications. * Work side by side with board certified physician, physician assistants, and registered nurses. * Master EHR workflows, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and insurance fundamentals. * Personalized mentorship and strong letter of recommendation for high performing team members. *What You’ll Learn* * Real world application of anatomy & physiology terminology. * Workflow integration between front office and clinical care teams. * Patient centered communication techniques that improve health outcomes. * Insurance prior-authorization. *Core Responsibilities* * Guide patients through medical history * Taking patients’ history with EHR * Scribing notes and maintaining accurate records * Assisting in biopsies and surgeries. * Answering and calling patients with lab results * Answering and calling pharmacies * Sterilizing instruments * Organize, stock, and clean patient rooms. * Uphold all HIPAA and OSHA regulations. *Qualifications* * Recent college graduate — on a Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, Pre-PA, or related health science track. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office; prior EHR exposure is a plus but not required — we provide training. * Strong work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail. * Ability to commit to a full-time, 40 hour schedule for minimum 12 months or more. *Compensation & Schedule* * Fulltime; Monday – Friday, 8 hour day shifts — no nights or weekends. * Starting at $22.00 per hour, reviewed after 3 months. * Comprehensive benefits: health insurance, paid sick-pay, staff rate dermatology services. *Application Instructions * Send your resume *and *a one paragraph cover letter that explains: * Your career goal (MD, PA, RN, etc.). * The clinical competencies you hope to develop in this role. * Your available start date and minimum length of commitment. * We look forward to supporting your journey toward a career in medicine!
