American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and the ability to work in an LDRP setting.
Details
- ,-1 PACU
- 4 to patients on average per day
- RN staffing follows AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3-4 couplets
- 1 CST per shift
- Night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Low census call possible, with call-back up to 3a for nights and 3p for days
- Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed and within scope of practice
- Schedule cycle every 6 weeks
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Experience working in an LDRP setting required
- Skilled in labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op and PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, and Pitocin and epidural management
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Level 3 Trauma, Certified Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center facility
- Charge nurse support available 24/7
- Phlebotomy support available for peripheral blood draws
- Respiratory Therapy and Hospitalist coverage available 24/7
- Resource nurse support available when possible
- Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, fetal monitors, and Philips newborn monitors
- Additional unit equipment includes scales, ultrasound, and ambulation assist devices
- Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental training
- Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract
- Green scrubs provided by the hospital

- Unit culture emphasizes teamwork
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before reapplying
