We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to cancer patients, managing complex treatment protocols, and supporting patients through their journey with compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other targeted treatments following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Monitor patient responses during treatments, assessing for adverse reactions and providing prompt interventions as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects management, and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in managing symptoms related to cancer and its treatments, including pain management and supportive therapies.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and laboratory result reviews.
  • Support patients through emotional challenges associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment by providing empathetic communication.

Requirements

  • Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure transfer.
  • Proven experience working in oncology nursing; experience with chemotherapy administration is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology related to oncology care, and aseptic techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognize adverse reactions promptly.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards related to hazardous drug handling and infection prevention protocols.
