The Registered Nurse provides direct care in the Skilled- subacute unit. Communicates with physicians / Nurse Director / Co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Duties include using two patient identifiers, following medication reconciliation policy, ensuring crash cart checks, compliance with infection control manual, giving change of shift report, assisting physicians with special tests and procedures, applying body mechanics, pain assessment and reassessment, documentation of medications on MAR and Pyxis, recognizing signs of abuse, initiating discharge and patient/family education, establishing priorities of patient care, and formulating goal-directed plan of care.

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California
  • BCLS certification upon hire and maintain current
  • Previous six months experience in Acute Care hospital or Long Term Care
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
