About this role

Position Summary

Awaken Beauty Co. is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our medical aesthetics team in Bedford, New Hampshire. The Medical Aesthetics RN is responsible for providing safe, high-quality aesthetic treatments while creating an exceptional patient experience from consultation through treatment and follow-up. Previous aesthetic nursing experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, eager to learn, comfortable receiving feedback, and excited to develop their skills through education, hands-on training, mentorship, and ongoing competency development.

Our nurses are expected to combine excellent clinical care with genuine connection. We want patients to feel heard, educated, comfortable, and confident in their treatment plans and results. The Medical Aesthetics RN may be required to work a schedule based on patient and practice needs, which may include evenings and weekends. Participation in required training, team meetings, educational events, and occasional practice events may also be expected.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and review medical history, medications, allergies, contraindications, previous aesthetic treatments, and patient goals. Educate patients regarding appropriate treatment options, expected outcomes, risks, benefits, alternatives, downtime, and aftercare. Develop individualized aesthetic treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and appropriate medical providers.

Perform aesthetic treatments within the RN's authorized scope of practice and demonstrated competency. Recognize contraindications and situations requiring additional evaluation, consultation, or referral to an advanced practice provider or medical director. Provide appropriate pre- and post-treatment education and follow-up.

Identify and appropriately escalate potential treatment complications or adverse reactions. Maintain patient privacy, dignity, comfort, and safety throughout all interactions.

Aesthetic Services

Following completion of required education, training, competency validation, and authorization, the Medical Aesthetics RN may provide services including:

Neuromodulator injections, including Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and other approved products Dermal filler treatments Biostimulatory injectable treatments Laser and light-based treatments Laser hair reduction Fractional and resurfacing laser treatments Microneedling PRP/PRF treatments Chemical peels Hydrafacial and advanced skin treatments Other medical aesthetic treatments introduced by the practice for which the RN has completed required training and demonstrated competency

The RN is never expected to perform a treatment independently until appropriate education, hands-on training, competency assessment, and clinical approval have been completed.

Patient Experience

Create a welcoming, professional, and judgment-free environment for every patient. Listen carefully to patient concerns and aesthetic goals rather than focusing solely on selling a particular treatment. Set realistic expectations and provide honest recommendations, including recommending against treatment when appropriate.

Educate patients on long-term treatment planning, skin health, maintenance, and available services. Build strong patient relationships through trust, consistency, communication, and appropriate follow-up. Assist patients with understanding treatment recommendations, packages, memberships, products, and available services when appropriate.

Maintain professionalism when managing patient concerns, dissatisfaction, or unexpected treatment outcomes.

Documentation & Clinical Standards

Complete accurate and timely documentation for every patient encounter. Document assessments, treatment plans, informed consent, products used, lot numbers when applicable, treatment settings, injection sites, dosages, patient response, education, and follow-up recommendations. Obtain required photographs and consents according to practice policy.

Follow established standing orders, protocols, policies, and emergency procedures. Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control practices. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, bloodborne pathogen, medication safety, sharps safety, and laser safety requirements.

Participate in chart audits, clinical reviews, competency assessments, and quality-improvement activities. Immediately report adverse events, medication errors, safety concerns, or unexpected treatment outcomes according to practice policy.

Because this position is open to nurses entering medical aesthetics, the RN must demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and professional development.
