The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care throughout the perioperative process, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients across all age groups, from neonates to older adults. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams; directing and supporting OR Technicians and ancillary staff; delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care; promoting efficient patient flow; ensuring compliance with regulatory, professional, and hospital standards; participating in quality improvement, staff meetings, and continuing education; and serving as a clinical resource and mentor to team members.
