Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for mixed-acuity PCU and Med-Surg Telemetry patients, including surgical pre/post and overflow medical diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and participate in post-MI care and heparin/insulin protocol management
- Perform IV therapy, central line or PICC care, medication administration, blood product administration, and wound/ostomy/feeding tube care as needed
- Assist with respiratory support needs (HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, non-invasive airway management) and tracheostomy care when applicable
- Support orthopaedic and trauma post-operative patients; manage peripheral nerve block catheters, traction, and other post-op needs
- Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, and Unit Secretary; maintain SBAR communications and accurate EPIC documentation
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand to submit
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; traveler experience welcomed; locals not accepted (must be 50 miles away) with account-manager confirmation of mileage guidelines
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
Certifications
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; PALS and TCAR preferred
- Ability to work in a mixed-acuity PCU/IMC environment and to float to related units (e.g., West 2, West 3, and Observation) as needed
