Obtains or delegates the obtaining of a nursing history and complete admission assessments, including pain screening. Evaluates patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, physiological norms, and signs of abuse or neglect. Conducts follow-up assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress. Identifies patient teaching needs and provide education on a planned or spontaneous basis. Administers treatments and medications, interpret and verify physician orders, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
