Inova OB/GYN Ballston The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) will provide health assessment and direct care to obstetrics and gynecology patients. The ideal candidate would have experience as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner with a background of RN experience in Labor and Delivery. Inova Women’s Services has one of the largest obstetric programs in the metropolitan Washington, D. C., area with more than 10,000 births at Inova Women’s Hospital and a total of more than 20,000 across the entire Inova system.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for women across their lifespan
• Conduct gynecologic exams
• Provide contraceptive consultations
• Conduct well woman, prenatal, and gynecologic outpatient visits
• Communicates appropriately with OB/GYN physicians and other healthcare providers
• Select locations will do inpatient postpartum rounding at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For physician Assistants, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start

Licensure

Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances) Payor Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor Medical Staff Credentialing : Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Education

Completion of a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program is strongly preferred.

Experience

2+ years of experience as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is strongly preferred. Applicants may be considered for current and future opportunities including full time, part time and PRN positions. Positions available for various facilities, shifts and specialty areas.
