Record a patient’s medical history accurately Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc. Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc. Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc. Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks Collect samples for lab testing as assigned Provide emotional and psychological support when needed Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice. Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing processes, care planning, and clinical assessment. Ability to perform comprehensive resident assessments and develop individualized care plans. Skilled in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy (where permitted), and complex clinical interventions.

Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities, including standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Experience with quality improvement initiatives, infection control programs, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.

Commitment to resident-centered care, advocacy, and maintaining resident dignity and safety. Current CPR/BLS certification
