The posted compensation range of $35.45 - $55.36 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. • Assessment: Does admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition. Provides nursing care to meet the patient’s physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Notifies doctor of changes in assessment that require attention.
• Planning: Designs, directs, evaluates, and documents the plan of care, patient/family teaching and the transition of care plan to include a safe appropriate level of care discharge. Works with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. Formulates a plan of care and daily goals that takes into consideration the individualized needs of the patient.
• Implementation: Prepares patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to help reduce patient anxiety. Knows patients' conditions and reports significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader, and/or physician. Implements patient safety initiative and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, consult notifications.
• Evaluation: Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notifies physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjusts nursing care to meet patient's emerging and changing needs.
• Report

Skills

Gives and receives report using Bedside Shift Report including family participation. Provides an accurate and comprehensive report to the oncoming shift to help establish continuity of patient care. Receives report from off-going shift and delegates tasks as needed to provide continuity of care according to coworker's experience, abilities and the patient's acuity.

• Environment & Patient Safety: Maintains patient and work environment to maximize safe working space. Promptly removes all used and soiled equipment, linen, etc. to appropriate location. Incorporates national and organizational goals to improve quality, patient safety and satisfaction. Reports all patient safety and hazard concerns immediately.

• Associates Other in Nursing
• One (1) year of RN experience, upon hire and
• Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
• Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Where You'll Work

St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a 245 bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U. S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an “A” hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services.

Unless directed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, applications for this position will be considered on a rolling basis. CommonSpirit Health cannot anticipate the date by which a successful candidate may be identified.

Uh, my name is Ricardo Arenas. I'm a registered nurse and I work here at the critical care unit. Ricardo, I've got something to show you, OK.

Hi, my name is Taylor and I was a patient of Ricardo. Come here, come say hi. Ricardo pops out because he was one of the first people that I remember once I woke up, so I was really disoriented.

I remember him though, and he was able to get me to laugh, and right off the bat I was like, oh, I feel like I was talking to a friend or someone that I knew. I could just feel like. His presence and his care.

It was a lasting impact I'd say. Ricardo, I just want you to know that your impact, um, Did you think I'd get emotional. was uh something I'll never forget. Thank you for being you.

Oh It feels awesome, to be honest, like seeing them, uh, from when they first roll in the ICU I almost see it like, like, like a mission. Like, I'm gonna do my best to um get back to at least as closest to 100%. And if we achieve that, it's like the best feeling in the world, like Taylor, like, he wasn't able to talk at the time before I knew it, um, he was no longer in the ICU.

So hearing him talk is like, you don't imagine how they sound, you just see them and then when you hear them talk, it's, it's amazing.
