Position Purpose
The SurgeryDepartment at Mount Carmel East has 13 operating rooms with 3 of those rooms dedicated to trauma. Surgical specialties include Level II Trauma care, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery (Cranial and Spinal), General Surgery, ENT, GYN, Dental, Plastics, Colorectal, and Robotic Surgery. They average 25 cases per day and care for the adult patient population. The department is staffed 24-7-365 and focuses heavily on work-life balance. This position for 3 12-hours on night shift. There is no on-call requirement.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional,social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit ofteamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient careutilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies,procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and qualityinitiatives andexhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizingevidence based practice. Collaborates withpatient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical,spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information toappropriate team membersin a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completelypertinent assessments,interventions and outcomes for patientsin accordance with documentation standards, policies,procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers asappropriate.

Education
Graduate from school of nursing.

Certification
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- For CasualRNs 2 years of experience isrequired.
- All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject toparticipate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
