MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience in professional theories, concepts, principles or practices common to nursing, medical or health sciences (i.e., Audiology, Hearing Conservation, Industrial Hygiene, and/or Occupational Medicine/Nursing). 2. Demonstrated experience in written or oral communications in order to prepare or present findings, recommend or carry out specific actions, or develop standard operating procedures or policies. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of regulations or procedures concerning medical examinations or medical clearance for overseas assignments. 4. Demonstrated skills in executing one or more of the following : performing audiometry, spirometry, or ergonomic worksite evaluations; using standard screening or diagnostic instruments in primary care or occupational health setting. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. EDUCATION: Graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U. S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICIATIONS: Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Additional License Requirements for Nurse Practitioner positions: Must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the medical specialty required by the position at the time of appointment. Area of specialties for positions include, but are not limited to: Acute Care Anesthesia, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, Home Health, Midwifery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Allergy and Immunology, Women's Health, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Occupational Health, Orthopedic, Respiratory or other specialties identified for the position. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT: Working around infectious persons/materials DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex problems related to the medical aspects of laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures that relate to Federal employment. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of program and medical management concepts/methodology, and the ability to communicate ideas, concepts, methods, analysis or recommendations to organizational leadership. 3. Demonstrated ability to develop systems to monitor and maintain standards of practice related to occupational and environmental health to include knowledge sufficient to update or modify medical records computer systems. 4. Certification in one or more of the following: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). 5. Demonstrated nursing experience, five or more years, in one or more of the following areas: critical care, emergency nursing, public health nursing or occupational health nursing.

We may consider: performance conduct; needs and interests of the agency; and whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government and the efficiency of the Federal service SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to SCI. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs. Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs. NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.
