About this role

Banner University Medical Center- Phoenix is seeking an ICU Donor Care Nurse for a new Donor Care Center, one of eight organ procurement programs in the country and first in Arizona. The unit cares for brain-dead patients, requiring RN autonomy while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team focused on optimizing organ viability for procurement. The position involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. Responsibilities include formulating care plans, implementing care through direct patient care and team coordination, documenting patient records, participating in research and education activities, and interacting with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts.

Requirements

  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure (NLC)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • 2+ years ICU RN experience (as stated in hiring notice)
  • Clinical knowledge typically achieved with three years' experience in the intensive care setting (minimum qualifications)
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to area of work
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Professional certification preferred
