Smiley Dental is seeking a dedicated *Orthodontic Assistant* to join our growing team. This role plays an important part in the success of our orthodontic department by supporting the orthodontist, delivering excellent patient care, and helping maintain efficient clinical operations. The right candidate will contribute to a positive patient experience while helping the practice continue to grow and serve our community.
This position *requires travel with the orthodontist to multiple office locations* as part of the weekly schedule.

*Responsibilities*
- Assist the orthodontist during a variety of procedures, including orthodontic adjustments, appliance placement, and removal
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments and equipment are properly sterilized according to infection control standards
- Take dental X rays and ensure accurate documentation in patient records
- Provide chairside assistance while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, orthodontic care, and post treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records using Eaglesoft or similar dental software
- Schedule patient appointments and assist in managing the orthodontist’s daily schedule
- Support front office operations when needed, including greeting patients, answering calls, and processing paperwork
- Travel with the orthodontist to assigned Smiley Dental locations as needed
*Qualifications*
- Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required by state regulations
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, infection control, and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Experience using dental software such as Eaglesoft or similar systems preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with patients of all ages
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment and manage multiple responsibilities
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between office locations
*Experience*
Previous orthodontic assisting experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train motivated candidates who demonstrate strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
