Our Med Surg Department is looking for a Nurse Intern to join their team!
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while continuing your nursing education and working alongside our experienced RNs.
Schedule
Approximately 12 hours per week, with hours varying based on department needs.
Shifts
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
About the Nurse Intern Role
The Nurse Intern (NI) is a nursing student who is currently enrolled in a nursing program leading to Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. The role may also include a nursing graduate who has not yet passed the licensure exam and is awaiting a re-take, at which time they will be identified as a Nurse Technician.
Nurse Interns always work under the direct and present supervision of a Registered Nurse , providing an excellent opportunity to build clinical skills, confidence, and experience in a hospital setting.
Education and Training Required
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Active certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) preferred.

- Frequently stand, walk, and sit.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while transferring and positioning patients and maneuvering equipment while using gait belts and transfer devices.
- Occasionally push and pull up to 25 pounds for transporting patients and moving equipment.
- Occasionally bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assist with patient care or retrieve equipment or supplies.
- Occasionally handle objects, smell, feel control knobs, switches and levers.
