Clinic Float/Triage Nurse- RN or LPN

Provides and performs oversight, delegation and coordination of total nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic needs of patients.

Duties

Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes according to the RN scope of practice. Collaborates with health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care. Provides patient care supervision.

Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance within the RN scope of practice. Performs and maintains documentation. Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.

Participates in MCHI committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained. Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
• Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Nursing
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or LPN in the State of Nebraska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• ER, Recovery Room, Charge nurses: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• ER and Charge Nurses: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required
