Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) at BBI will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care across a range of pre-, intra-, and post-operative responsibilities. The RN will also handle essential administrative duties to ensure seamless patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Admissions/Pre-Op:
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments, including patient interviews and health history reviews.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including IV insertions, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to review and implement patient care plans.
  • Operating Room Circulation:
  • Assist with setting up the operating room and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Act as a circulating nurse during procedures, ensuring availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor patient conditions during surgery and communicate updates to the surgical team.
  • Recovery:
  • Monitor post-operative patients in the recovery area, assessing their response to surgery and anesthesia.
  • Manage pain control and ensure patient comfort through necessary interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.

Duties

  • Maintain and prepare medical charts, document medical histories, procedures, and recovery progress.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Complete daily maintenance logs and quarterly reports.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas or compact RN license.
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in an operating room or surgical setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records and medical software.
  • Capable of working flexible hours and handling long periods of standing and movement.
