RN Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse • Advance Practice Registered Nurse w/specialized certification / Medical Director

• Active, Unencumbered State License (NP/APRN) in the State in which you are applying.
• Active, Individual DEA with address listed in the State in which you are applying (please note that if you intend on prescribing in multiple states, a separate DEA is required in each state in which you are planning on prescribing).
• DEAX designation as formerly required to prescribe Buprenorphine *or* proof of 8hrs of qualified training as assigned by SAMHSA will be required.
• 1 yr. Minimum Actively Prescribing Buprenorphine
• Proof of Active Board Certification
• Ability to work in-office to meet our clients’ needs
• Copy of your resume, listing your education/training, credentials, references and any letters of professional recommendation
• Responsible for continuing education hours and providing a copy of trainings to administrator/clinical facilitator
• Completed one (1) year clinical experience in substance abuse treatment and a minimum of sixty (60) hours of alcohol and drug education within the last five (5) years.
• Pass all MBCC, APS, CPS background, fingerprint checks
• At least 1 year experience working in an IOP

Responsibilities

• Conducting intakes. providers see patients after they have already undergone an extensive evaluation by the counselor.
• Monitor patients' clinical progress at regular group counseling sessions
• Authorize patients' prescriptions
• Complete all notes same day reporting in our EHR system
• (providers receive full orientation/ training, support on our EHR system)
• Administering of all medical services performed by the program
• Reviewing and approving in writing all treatment plans
• Determining admission eligibility, diagnosis and prescribing of medication.
• Developing or approving the forms used for medical assessment
• Reviewing and signing off on medical portions of client records
• Developing or approving written policies and sharing with administrator/ clinical facilitator -regarding medications and supervising the administration of medications
• Reviewing and approving the program’s written policies and procedures for screening for infectious diseases, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease, tuberculosis and hepatitis B and C;
• The consultant is responsible for the coordination of medical care in the program, is a liaison with other clinicians, participates in any medically-related quality assurance activities, and reviews and approves the organization’s medical policies.
• Demonstrating training, competency, or experience and, if applicable, access to psychiatric consultation, commensurate with the volume and characteristics of the population of individuals with co-occurring disorders routinely served by the organization, if licensed to provide integrated services.
• Review and approval of the medical portion(s) of the Intake Packet.
• Review and approval of procedures regarding screening and referral of medical needs.
• Review and approval of requirements for staff physical examinations.
• Will orient new staff members on how he/she can be reached, what types of situations where her input might be important, etc. A discussion of co-occurring disorders and will including suggested outside referral sources
• Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings & daily huddle meeting to prepare for day
• Responsible for continuing education hours and providing a copy of trainings to administrator
• Participate in facilitating 2 groups within an agreed upon 90-day period on PAW & other medical information pertinent to substance use
