About this role

BrightStar Care of Southwest AtlantaCollege Park

We're looking for one or more RNs to cover recurring 8-to-12-hour shifts on a dedicated pediatric case in Midtown Atlanta: a young child requiring G-tube feedings and close clinical monitoring. This case allows you to truly get know, and care for, a child through real continuity of care.

PaySchedule for RNs

$45-55/hour for this case, reflecting the specialty pediatric skill set. Paid weekly, direct deposit. Shifts run 8-12 hours; scheduling includes a mix of days, evenings, and weekends depending on case coverage needs.

What this RN Role Looks Like

This is a dedicated case, not a rotating caseload - you'll build a real relationship with the child and family. On shift you'll be:

  • Managing G-tube feedings and troubleshooting enteral equipment
  • Running full clinical assessments and catching changes in condition early
  • Following an individualized plan of care built with the family and clinical team
  • Partnering closely with the parents/caregivers on day-to-day care and routines
  • Coordinating with any other RNs also on the case so care stays consistent
  • Keeping the DON and care team looped in on what's changing
  • Charting from the field on our mobile system

As our caseload grows, this role may expand to include other skilled needs like wound care, infusions, or bowel/bladder programs. If you have that experience, we'd love to hear about it.

Why our RNs Stay with BrightStar Care

Flexible PRN/part-time scheduling. Weekly pay. Mileage reimbursement between visits. Continuing education opportunities. A referral bonus if you bring someone good our way. Room to grow into leadership if that's where you want to go. And, our DON works directly with new home care nurses to get them comfortable with the transition. We also nominate nurses for BrightStar's National Caregiver of the Year Award. Winners get a trip to the Annual Conference and a shot at a $2,500 scholarship.

What You Need

  • Active, unrestricted GA RN license
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience
  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray in the last 12 months (we can help you with this)
  • Valid driver's license, reliable car, current insurance
  • Solid assessment and communication skills
  • Willing to work some weekends, evenings, or holidays, as needed
  • Comfortable moving between different types of skilled care rather than sticking to one lane
  • You'll be on your feet, bending, and helping patients move, and should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed.

What Sets Successful RN Candidates Apart

  • Pediatric home care or pediatric clinical experience
  • G-tube / enteral feeding experience specifically
  • PALS certification
  • Home health background
  • A BSN

Worth asking

The posting doesn’t answer these. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.

  • Can you walk me through base pay range and differentials?
  • What should I expect for weekly hours, weekend, holiday, call, and rotation?
  • What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
  • How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?
