Simply Serene Detox & Recovery Center is seeking compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our medical detox team. We are hiring for full-time, part-time, and PRN positions , with both day and night shifts available .
The RN provides direct nursing care to adults receiving detoxification and withdrawal-management services. This position plays a critical role in maintaining client safety, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, administering medications, communicating changes in condition to medical providers, and supporting clients throughout the early stages of recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete nursing admission assessments and ongoing reassessments.
- Obtain and monitor vital signs and recognize changes requiring clinical intervention.
- Perform withdrawal assessments and monitoring, including CIWA-Ar and COWS , according to provider orders and facility protocols.
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders.
- Complete medication reconciliation and maintain accurate MAR documentation.
- Monitor clients for withdrawal complications, medication reactions, changes in mental status, seizure risk, falls, and other medical or behavioral concerns.
- Complete suicide and safety screenings and initiate appropriate escalation procedures when indicated.
- Communicate significant findings and changes in condition promptly to the provider and Director of Nursing.
- Receive, review, and implement provider orders.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, LPNs, BHTs, clinical staff, admissions, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide client education regarding medications, withdrawal symptoms, treatment expectations, and recovery.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation in Ritten EMR .
- Participate in nursing shift reports and ensure thorough handoff of medications, withdrawal scores, safety concerns, provider orders, pending labs, and other critical information.
- Maintain appropriate medication storage, controlled-medication accountability, infection-control practices, and client confidentiality.
- Support admissions and discharges as assigned.
- Maintain a professional, compassionate, trauma-informed approach when working with clients experiencing substance use disorders and behavioral health concerns.
- Follow Simply Serene policies and procedures and all applicable licensing, regulatory, accreditation, and nursing standards.
- Perform additional nursing duties within RN scope of practice as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license permitting practice in Arizona .
- Current BLS/CPR certification .
- Ability to safely assess clients and recognize medical or psychiatric deterioration.
- Strong medication administration and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to work independently while appropriately escalating clinical concerns.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24-hour behavioral health and detox environment.
- Successful completion of required background checks, employee health requirements, training, and facility onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in medical detox, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, emergency medicine, acute care, or withdrawal management is strongly preferred. Experience with CIWA-Ar, COWS, medication-assisted treatment, and behavioral health EMR systems is also preferred.
Scheduling
Simply Serene operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . Opportunities are available for:

Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on scheduling and facility needs.

Our RNs must be comfortable working with clients who may be experiencing significant withdrawal symptoms, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, or medical complications while maintaining clear professional boundaries and a calm, supportive environment.
