About this role

Oneida Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse. In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse will provide patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team, ensuring the highest levels of patient safety and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for appointments with physicians, including gathering and recording vital signs and medical history. Schedule appointments for patients efficiently and accurately. Coordinate with after-hours care providers and input information into patient records, ensuring comprehensive follow-up.

Provide clinical advice to patients over the phone or through messaging platforms, demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Assist providers during appointments and examinations, ensuring patients receive high-quality care. Utilize a customer service-oriented approach to address the needs of patients, promoting a positive healthcare experience.

Follow established procedures for authorized medication administration and maintain accurate documentation. Perform treatments as directed by healthcare providers, including administering injectables with precision and care. Manage clinic flow effectively, ensuring patients are seen in a timely and orderly manner.

Maintain patient records meticulously, demonstrating superb attention to detail and compliance with confidentiality regulations. Perform regular equipment checks and maintain adequate supplies to support clinic operations. Execute physician orders promptly, schedule follow-up appointments, and facilitate referrals as needed.

Communicate and collaborate with other members of the clinical team to optimize patient care outcomes. Fulfill receptionist duties as required, providing courteous and efficient service to patients and visitors.

Education

Associate Degree (Preferred).

License and Certifications

New York LPN (Required). BLS/CPR (Preferred).

Experience

1 year of experience in a medical office setting (Preferred).
