About this role

Penn Medicine is seeking a Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice for 14 Center, caring for patients with oncologic malignancies including liquid and solid tumors requiring autologous stem cell transplant, cellular therapy, chemotherapy and symptom management. The role involves providing direct care to patients ranging in age from infancy to elderly, working within competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork, and Technology/Informatics. The nurse works closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate coordination of care across the continuum. Must complete all Clinical Nurse 1 competencies and advance to Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague level by 18 months of professional practice.

Requirements

  • RN License - PA
  • BLS/CPR Certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support as a healthcare provider per American Heart Association)
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing)
  • Less than 15 months experience
  • 1 year experience
  • Nursing policy compliance
  • Inpatient experience
  • Chemotherapy administration
