About this role
Serves as a resource for clinical inquiry process, including identification of potential projects, and/or subject matter expertise. Demonstrates a “spirit of inquiry” to support professional curiosity including research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives using the organization’s preferred structure, i.e. PDSA (plan, do, study, act).
Works with others to identify problems and solutions and collaboratively create and assists in the implementation of the changes planned. Creates a supportive environment for nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. Disseminates evidence-based practice findings through educational programs, courses, and other activities.

Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the ANPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, throughputs, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation. Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learner’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences. Engages learners in planned educational activities through use of effective facilitation skills...
Collects data to evaluate and refine competency management activities. Role models competent practice and facilitates a positive learning environment. Performs needs assessment, gap analysis, environmental scanning and identifies high risk and problem prone related practices.
Promotes a supportive environment for students by collaborating with academic partners for student placement and a positive student experience. Implements the nursing professional development (NPD) initiatives demonstrating caring behaviors, respect, equity, inclusiveness and empathy in actions and interactions with others. Identifies opportunities for collaboration/partnership related to education and clinical practice. Effectively communicates and collaborates with relevant stakeholders related to professional development activities.
