RN Baylor

Nurses on this unit care for patients with a variety of neurological diagnoses, including acute stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injuries, neurosurgical recovery, spinal conditions, altered mental status, and other complex neurological illnesses requiring continuous monitoring and specialized care. What We're Looking For

Education

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Experience

One year relevant experience, preferred. Licensure/

Certification

Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

What You'll Do

Care for patients in a 24-bed Neuro Intermediate ICU with a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio

Manage neurological conditions including

Stroke (embolic & hemorrhagic) Subdural & subarachnoid hemorrhages Seizures, mild-to-moderate TBIs, lumbar drains Support medical overflow such as DKA, respiratory complications, sepsis, trachs, and stable vents Collaborate with supportive roles to focus on care planning and critical decision-making Occasionally support patients in sister cardiac and medical units
