  • Conduct initial health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history reviews for students.
  • Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and HIPAA confidentiality policies.

  • Manage acute health issues such as injuries, illnesses, or emergencies by providing first aid or triage assessments.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Athenahealth.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or disabilities.
  • Support students with complex medical needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or ventilator management.
  • Educate students and staff on health topics including hygiene, disease prevention, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid WA Registered Nursing License in good standing.
  • Proven experience working in medical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of pediatric and geriatric care practices including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care.
  • Experience with IV infusion, medication administration, phlebotomy, and basic life support (BLS).
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students of all ages, staff members, and families.
