Staff Nurse, Inpatient Behavioral Health (RN) - Day Shift

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including mental status examinations, risk assessments, and ongoing evaluations

• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions

• Implement individualized care plans and participate in treatment team meetings

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when necessary

• Accurately document patient care, observations, and interventions in the electronic medical record

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery

• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies

• Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate respect, dignity, and empathy at all times

• Support unit operations during night shift, including patient monitoring, admissions, and emergency response as needed

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN license in good standing

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Previous experience in behavioral health, mental health, or psychiatric nursing preferred (new graduates encouraged to apply)

• Current BLS/CPR certification

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in challenging situations
