Position Summary
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic I, you'll keep the machines that power our recycling and material handling operations running strong. You'll handle preventative maintenance and basic repairs on equipment like loaders, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, cranes, balers, conveyors, and mobile processing equipment — hands-on work that keeps our sites moving safely and efficiently.

- Monday - Friday
- 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
What You'll Do
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
Change fluids, filters, tracks, belts, and wear components
Assist with repairs to hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Identify equipment issues and communicate findings to senior technicians
Operate heavy equipment for testing and inspection purposes
Maintain service records and work orders
Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety regulations
Assist with field repairs and emergency breakdown response
Follow lockout/tagout and company safety procedures
What You Bring
1-3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
Vocational or technical training in heavy equipment or diesel technology
Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude
Sharp attention to detail
Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions
Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform manual labor
Welding and torching knowledge a plus
Military experience relevant to mechanical or technical fields welcomed
