The Registered Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. Acts as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. Educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. Performs routine bone densitometry technical acts not requiring medical judgement as reflected in the scope of delegation.
Position Requirements
- Three (3) years inpatient cardiology-based experience such as Progressive Cardiac Unit, Critical Care Unit, Cardiac Step Down, Cardiology Lab Environment, etc. required.
- One (1) year of experience reading and interpreting telemetry required.
- Experience in a medical office setting in the selected specialty, preferred.
- Experience working with EKG’s, cardiac medications and treatment protocols preferred.
Education
- Requires graduation from an accredited Nursing Diploma program.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Must complete Telemetry class within 3 months from date of hire.
