Overview

An Inpatient Registered Nurse in the PACU provides comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatments, medication administration, and diagnostic studies. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans, ensuring patient and family education, discharge planning, and addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs. The nurse evaluates intervention effectiveness, troubleshoots equipment issues, and actively participates in quality and safety initiatives, contributing to evidence-based practice and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments within scope of practice and unit standards.
  • Address diverse patient needs throughout care continuity.
  • Formulate and coordinate personalized care plans with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide direct care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostics.
  • Evaluate and adjust interventions based on patient response.
  • Collaborate proactively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and participate in unit-based decision-making.
  • Engage in safety and quality education programs, contributing to organizational improvements.
