Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Step Down Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32 bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients

• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment

• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions

• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care

• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a CCRN certification is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is 37.5 hours per week full time day shift - 7a-7:30p and will require every other weekend and rotating holidays.
