Responsibilities
- Deliver RN-level bedside care for Med Surg patients per physician orders and care plans
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and modify care plans, document changes, and reassess patient status
- Monitor for changes in condition; administer medications, IV therapies, oxygen, blood products, and other treatments; operate infusion pumps with accurate documentation
- Document in Cerner EHR and use Care Compass to organize assessments, tasks, procedures, and patient education
- Perform age-appropriate nursing care, interpret cardiac rhythms, and escalate concerns using SBAR as needed
- Educate patients and families on disease process, treatments, medications, pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care and reduce readmission risk
- Maintain infection prevention practices and protect patient confidentiality; mentor junior staff as needed
Requirements
- Current Colorado RN license in good standing
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required
- ACLS certification, or ability to complete the next available course within 3 months
- PALS certification, or ability to complete the next available course within 3 months
- Cerner EHR experience required; strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office and EHR systems)
- Minimum of two years Med Surg experience strongly desired
- BSN preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
