Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for an Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM, on call every 6th weekend from 5:30 AM to 11:30 AM as needed This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day. In this role, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse will: Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed Provide patient education What You’ll Bring We’re looking for professionals who bring both technical skill and a deep sense of responsibility to the care experience—individuals who thrive in environments where excellence, empathy, and accountability matter. Qualifications and Skills Include: Active RN license Current BLS and ACLS certification 2 to 3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred Strong technical and clinical assessment skills Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment Ability to communicate accurately and concisely More important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
