Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations on patients
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions
  • Develop and implement patient care plans
  • Prescribe medications and treatments

  • Perform various medical procedures, such as complex suturing, incision and drainage, tick removal, foreign body removal, ear lavages, IV insertion and maintenance, EKG with interpretation
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Writing appropriate prescriptions for medical problems
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality to comply with HIPAA laws
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems to document patient encounters and manage patient information

Requirements

  • Valid nurse practitioner/physician assistant license in RI
  • Certification as a nurse practitioner in the appropriate specialty area (e.g., family practice, pediatrics, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and utilization management systems
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to provide high-quality patient care
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Must be listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) or become certified within 6 months of employment.
