Details Acute care setting in a 16-bed Med/Surg unit 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Diverse patient population including respiratory issues (COPD, pneumonia), cellulitis, CHF, and surgical cases such as colon resections and orthopedic procedures Uses Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring with RNs responsible for interpreting their own strips Cerner EMR used for charting 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Schedules posted 6 weeks in advance Weekend commitment of every other or every third weekend No mandatory call or holiday requirements, though volunteer opportunities are available Floating opportunities available to assist as a safety sitter or in other supportive roles Access to high-flow oxygen and Vapotherm equipment, with more complex respiratory support transferred to ICU High patient turnover with frequent admissions and discharges throughout the day Requirements Active IL RN license required 2+ years of nursing experience required, ideally in a rural hospital setting Current

BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required Telemetry monitoring experience essential BSN not required Additional Information Deliver compassionate nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions Collaborate with a small team including a clinical care coordinator and a charge nurse who actively takes patient assignments House supervisor provides support to the team on weekends 1 CNA available for support staff assistance Assist with outpatient infusions as needed, though prior experience is preferred Strong focus on thorough charting required to support quality care and lower patient ratios Comprehensive orientation provided during the first week, including HR processes, infection control training, equipment familiarization, and hands-on experience with a preceptor Dress code requires pewter scrub tops with black shoes and pants; colored tops acceptable if layered with a pewter outer garment Team-oriented candidates eager to make a meaningful impact in patient care are encouraged to apply
