Temporary permit or wait for the permanent number? My start date rides on it

The question

Endorsement application is in. The state issues a temporary permit while it processes, and my new manager has now given me two different answers about whether I can start on one.

HR said the permit is fine. The educator said their cohort needs a permanent number because of how pharmacy assigns privileges. Both of them said it like it was settled.

Has anyone started on a temporary permit? Did the unit treat you differently while you were on it, and what happened on the day the permanent number posted?
