Emergence Health Network

The organization serves some of the region's most vulnerable residents, including individuals with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and substance use disorders. With approximately 60 years of service to the El Paso community, EHN provides behavioral health, IDD, and addiction services aimed at helping individuals and families improve their quality of life and function as independently as possible. The CEO is Kristi Daugherty. For nursing professionals, EHN offers opportunities primarily in behavioral and intellectual/developmental disability care rather than traditional acute hospital settings. The RN role involves coordinating and monitoring total nursing care for EHN consumers, identifying health needs, recommending follow-up, educating consumers and families, and working cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams. Nurses may also be involved in developing center-wide medical policies and procedures and assuming advisory roles across assigned units. The work environment is trauma-informed and focused on promoting healing, recovery, empowerment, and resilience.
