Key Responsibilities of Charge Nurse (RN or LPN)

Supervise and support nursing assistants and medication aides

Assess, plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care for skilled nursing and long-term care residents

Monitor residents’ conditions and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team and physicians

Provide resident and family education as needed

Ensure compliance with all state regulations and facility policies

Maintain accurate documentation and care records

Qualifications for Charge Nurse (RN or LPN)

Current RN or LPN license in Nebraska (or compact license recognized by Nebraska)

CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within the first month of employment

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
