About this role
The Registered Nurse PPOP PACU provides nursing care and service during the preoperative and postoperative periods, integrating and making nursing judgments pertaining to the patient's condition on a routine and emergency basis. The position oversees the supervision of all non-licensed personnel, while also receiving direction from Physicians. Essential duties include monitoring and assessing patient condition, completing treatments and procedures as ordered, admitting patients to pre and post-operative and post-anesthesia services, setting up and operating medical equipment, administering medications, providing patient and family education, and maintaining documentation. Facility: OrthoIndy Hospital Main, Indianapolis, IN. Department: OIH PACU. Shift: Part-time, 30 hours per week, three 10-hour weekday shifts, 5:00 am - 3:30 pm, with rotating days off, minimal call, closed six major holidays each year.
Requirements
Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred from a nationally accredited nursing program
2-4 years of PACU, ICU and/or ER Registered Nurse experience required; 4-6 years of experience preferred
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification preferred
