About this role
Position Summary
Summary
The Dialysis Educator is a registered nurse who is responsible for implementing and providing quality educational programs and activities, regarding dialysis which promote individual development of nursing department personnel. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of Patient Care Services and the Hospital. Qualifications
Responsibilities
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required )
- Must complete internal Nursing Orientation program successfully and in a timely manner
- Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
Experience And Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Clinical experience and/or skills relevant to assigned area of practice
- One year as a staff educator in a hospital setting preferred
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, team building, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher)
License/Certifications
- Certifications for assigned area of practice:
- Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
- Certifications required for assigned area of practice:
- BLS (all nurses)
