American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
  • General ED setting treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
  • Required to work every third weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating required outside of the assigned unit
  • Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR system

Requirements

  • Active or pending MN RN license accepted
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC
  • ENPC and SANE certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Experience with respiratory care and ventilated patients preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
  • Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with patient triage required
  • ED boarding experience and ICU background preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a fast-paced ED setting
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
  • Candidates must be gone 3 months from their last shift if previously employed as perm staff or per diem at this health system
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off preferred during the assignment
