- Degree from accredited academic nursing program
- Minimum ADN preparation
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS Certification (AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross)
- NRP Certification (Family Birthing Center, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother/Baby Care)
- ACLS Certification (if applicable to department)
- Experience working with neonates
