Job Title: Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner
Position Summary The Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive care for patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal diseases. Working collaboratively with rheumatologists, this role focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and long-term management of chronic rheumatologic conditions using evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Management: Evaluate and manage patients with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, vasculitis, osteoporosis, and connective tissue diseases. Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessments. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising rheumatologists.

Medication Management: Prescribe and manage disease-modifying therapies, biologic agents, and supportive medications consistent with scope of practice. Diagnostics & Procedures: Interpret laboratory studies, imaging results, and bone density tests. Perform office-based procedures such as joint aspiration and injection.
Documentation: Timely, accurately, and legibly prepare and update health records using the practice's electronic medical records (EMR) platform. Administrative Compliance: Provide necessary billing information within two business days of service or receipt of diagnostic results.
Qualifications and Requirements
Licensure
Must hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of South Carolina.
Certification
Must be recognized as a Nurse Practitioner by the South Carolina Board of Medicine.
Education
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Continuing
Education
Provide annual proof of adequate continuing medical education (CME) relating to medical services provided by Nurse Practitioners. Professional Status: Must not be excluded, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to participate in Federal Health Care Programs.
Employment Terms
Schedule
Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. As a salaried, exempt employee, the practitioner is expected to work outside of regular hours when necessary. Supervision: Work under the supervision of a licensed physician in compliance with South Carolina law.
Location: Services are provided at 3 St. Francis Drive, Suite 400, Greenville, SC 29601, or other assigned practice locations. Restrictive Covenants: Subject to a one-year non-competition period within the geographic restricted territory following separation. Exclusivity: During the term of employment, the employee shall not perform professional services for third parties without express written consent from the practice.
