Job

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on forklifts, diesel equipment, and other company vehicles and mobile equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, transmissions, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools, meters, and equipment manuals.
  • Service and repair forklifts, including propane, diesel, and electric units as applicable.
  • Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, fluid checks, battery maintenance, and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Inspect equipment for safety defects and promptly report or correct unsafe conditions.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel and electric forklifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, air compressors skid steers, trailers, generators, and other diesel-powered equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts, and equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and operations personnel regarding equipment condition, repair priorities, and estimated downtime.
  • Maintain an organized maintenance area and safely store tools, equipment, parts, and materials.
  • Assist with sourcing parts and identifying replacement components when needed.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable OSHA and safety requirements.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other equipment as necessary to perform maintenance duties.
  • Assist with emergency or breakdown repairs to minimize production interruptions.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, or other mechanical tasks when qualified and assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working around company equipment, employees, and operations.

Minimum

Requirements

  • 2 plus years of experience in diesel, heavy equipment, forklift, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting forklifts.
  • Expected to represent a work culture in line with company’s purpose and values.
  • Professional with a dependable disposition.
  • Self-motivated with good time-management and communication skills.
  • Pre-employment drug test; authorized to work in the United States
  • Requires occasional heavy lifting of parts up to 50lbs + and up to 100lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to work varying schedules and overtime when necessary, including weekend hours and/or evenings.
  • Experience working in a fabrication, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, or industrial environment. Self-starter and able to work alone.
  • Punctual, dependable, and responsible.
